Dreamscience Handset Update

I’ve just brought a 2nd hand Dreamscience imap device which has only had 1 life used but before I connected it up to my RS I wanted to make sure it was all up to date. Unfortunately neither of the two laptops I’ve used recognises the handset is plugged in when I open the Device updater program from the DS website. I emailed Mike at DS when the first laptop didn’t work and he suspected it was a antivirus issue so try another computer, I’ve tried this today and still no joy. I have emailed Mike back but I’m wondering if any of you guys have had similar issues?
I’ve connected the imap unit to my house Wi-fi as a stand alone device and it says it’s running the latest software etc but I’m slightly worried there’s a problem with it and reluctant to connect it up to my car.

Any input is appreciated.

@buz updated mine a few days ago with lead all fine.. couldn’t use my normal Mac’s tho had to use my work laptop

I’ve only got an iMac so used my daughters windows 10 and my neighbours windows 7 laptops and both the same outcome. I’ve also tried another usb lead and still the same, it powers the handset but doesn’t recognise it ??‍♂️

Do you plug in after everything has loaded up / switched on?.. try all usb, open device manager and see if its visible in there….

I’ve had a further email reply from Mike with a Word document of instructions to follow. I’m no IT wizard but it looks like it needs an updated driver so I’ll give this a go and report back.

I have tried 3 laptops and about six different usb cables.

the last time I spoke to mike he was saying it could be a fire wall blocking it as well but definitely  looks like drivers to me as well but I am shit at IT stuff.

I’ve just followed a tip from another post and replacing the USB lead with an old Nokia phone lead has sorted everything out ??
