    Hi All,

Got my absolute dream car today, Stealth Grey, 19″ forged alloys! Picture below. I’m based on Merseyside so hopefully there is a few of us around.

One question i do have, my car was a march 2017 build and i noticed in the 3rd service document it says an advisory of an oil leak from the gasket, i’ve checked the EITS website and there has been no work done. Do i just take the car straight back to ford to be checked or am i better using a local mechanic that i trust to check it?

    Winter pack
    Sony Audio
    Mud Flaps

If you’ve just bought the car, it will be under warranty from the supplying garage. They could get it checked for you.

If it was me though, I would take it to a reputable Ford dealer and ask them to check for any leaks, you may have to pay for the inspection if no leaks are found, but if they do find a leak, as the car is 2017…the FSA Head Gasket recall should be carried out and covered under the car’s original three year warranty.

Most cars should have been done, some even twice, as Ford revised the procedure in July 2018.

A good Ford dealer will know what they are looking for and at worst charge for an inspection giving peace of mind.

If they find a leak and the car is out of its initial warranty, they can fight the case with Ford for you and the supplying dealer may have to cover the repair, either way…no leaks and peace of mind.

Welcome 👍. I assume you mean head gasket? If so, srea064 is right, I’d get ford to check it out. Sometimes these leaks can be misdiagnosed so Ford is probably the safest bet.

Hope it doesn’t spoil the experience for you….

Hi and welcome, there is a good chance its the H/Gasket from the first FSA. If they say its the oil feed pipe to the turbo there’s a good chance its a misdiagnosis. The H/G work is the thick end of £1200. Good luck.

Great advice from this great forum.
I would add…. rag it before you  get it checked out, to force the issue. You’ve just got it so use it to the full for a while.
