Got myself a NB RS Edition about two months ago. Have put around 4500km on the clock now. Got it wrapped with Xpel Stealth at the day I got it delivered.

Loving the seats ! BUT sorry, … to me it is pure sacrilege to cover up Fords three stage carefully applied Nitrous blue paint which really pops and sparkles and changes its appearance with some sort of plastic film , especially a dull matt one !! Its like dating a beauty queen and covering her up in a Burkha 24/7 !!

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

yer, saves the original paint.. who for? the next owner? like dating a beauty queen and not rumping her because you want to save her for her next man !! like buying a new carpet and then covering it up with mats, or buying a sofa and putting a fitted cover on it to keep it nice – for the scrap man in 10 years when you want a new one !!

Jesus, BDA, if he squatted on the roof and covered it with crap, why should anyone care. He bought the car, he can do what he wants with it.

Yes I know Ian, I was just replying to someone else after I had merely expressed that I thought it was a darn shame to cover up nitrous blue !! and.. I’m not even a fan of blue! and in my opinion matt wrapped cars just look pants.

I’m with you, BDA, I’m not one for fuss — Jesus! I haven’t even washed my car since November — but some people like this shit and who are we to judge.

I think they look better without wrap but as Ian points out it’s his car. If he’s happy with it. I used to be fastidious. My 2.8 Special Capri, Sierra Cosworths. Even going back to my Escort Mexico. Can hardly be bothered to wipe the windscreen these days. Old folk. What are they like

Each to their own. Looks different and if the owner likes it so what.

Personally mine will just be getting polished 4 times a year and regular washing.

Having worked for a dealer I’m really not into paint protection etc.

I’m sure the jobs the detaiers do are much better than dealer applied rubbish, but personally I’ll stick to wax.

@RSOldie – I’m not suggesting anyone should crap on their car roof, but I’d fight and die for their right to do so.

You do say some things Ian. On the subject of RS Edition’s, the garage in Kidlington have two for sale, pre reg prices. Not easy to sell?
