    Evening all,

ive been a huge Ford fan for many years and currently own two Fiesta RS turbos in various states of disrepair. But I’ve pushed the boat out and purchased myself a new Focus RS Red edition that is at the dealers awaiting delivery in April. I’ve also asked for the FPM375 to be fitted. Can’t wait for it now

    Cheers

    Dave

Welcome to the club. Great choice. You won’t see too many of those on the road.

Top choice David, you’ll love the car. I haven’t fitted the Mountune upgrade yet, but at some point I will.

Is it ok to fit FPM375  from new or better to run the car in first ?

I’d run it in for a 1000miles nicely first, then get used to how the 345bhp feels, then you will appreciate the extra bit once the 375 is fitted. Thats my opinion. Innit.

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

Welcome to the forum David, enjoy the RS when you take delivery. I would go with 71bda advice if it was me.

I’ve already ordered the kit and authorised the dealer to do the work, but the advise does make sense!

got to pick the car up the beginning of April then have the best part of 5 hour drive home to get used to it!

you shouldnt be using the all the power in the first 1000 miles or so if you have any mechanical sympathy and want your bores and pistons to last well ! 4000 revs max and no more than about 60% throttle really. Unless you re  one of the ” drive it hard from  new to make it quicker when its old” crew ( with their smoky rattly motors..)

No point getting used to something when your going to change it to something far better than the standard car could ever be. Your getting the Edition model and you’ll so benefit from that LSD giving so much front end grip it’s ridiculous and digging in on a fast straight or pulling you out of that next corner.

It’s like the FPM kit wakes the RS up and remember, just be kind to it for the first 500-1000 miles running the thing in. The ingear mid range whloop is such a rush when overtaking and you’ll overtake everything that’s south of £50k and scare stuff on the twisty bits that’s north of £50k

This car has the ability to turn a vicar into Mr Hyde.

This road car the Focus RS Mk3 is the best RS product they’ve done to date even exceeding the Escort Cosworth in my experience.

Enjoy a fantastic handling fun car 🙂

Welcome aboard, let the dealer fit the FPM375 kit and as already suggested…take it easy for the first 1000 miles.

The Mountune kit, apart from the Auto Watch Ghost, is the best thing I’ve fitted to the car. Enjoy

David, Running in is a good idea, those first 1000 miles fly by. Start at 3500 or 4000 rpm limit then after 1k miles ease up your rpm limit (brief visits) 500 rpm per 100 miles thereafter. That’s been a good formula for me.

    Edition, FPM 375
