Short aerial looks nice but in the end I went with a shark fin aerial. If anyone is interested there are pictures and details here:

Hey guys, anyone have any issues with DAB reception?
My sports aerial works fine with FM but on DAB it’s not good at all compared to the standard aerial which is fine 95% of the time (i.e. usual blackspots)
With the sport one I get DAB about 5% of the time :(.

Faulty unit maybe?

Yes I do. Drops out very often. Did start performing better for a while but then went rubbish again. Still, use my phone music when I do have music, and prefer the look.
