Golf TCR phew it was nearly called the Golf Maxton. Plastic is as plastic does ?

Now this is a (starting at) £37.6k car 2wd, sub 300bhp and has so many stick on TCR plastic trim bits stuck on it’s probably slower than the standard car.

Some people thought the Editions where expensive with 4wd, 350bhp and Carbon. Now sounds like the Editions where a Performance bargain or any of the Mk3 RS.

Best thing the Golf has is the 7spd DSG

But if your of a certain age you’ll remember TCR – Total Control Racing and that didn’t work properly either or last ????

    RS Edition.

Not quite as good as the Clubsport S apparently.

Not my kind of car, but I can see the appeal. I’d personally rather have AWD (i.e. Golf R), even if the driving sensation isn’t quite as raw.

I don’t get the appeal of cars like the Megane Trophy-R either – why spend all that money on an impractical FWD hatchback when you could get a Cayman GT4? (or many other RWD sports cars)
