Hi I’m having an absolute nightmare with my new mk3 rs and it’s brakes. I’ve purchased the car recently 2nd hand and it’s had upgrades made to the brake systems and I’m struggling to find replacement brakes, I’ve been quoted nearly 1500 for just front dics and this is obviously less than ideal. What’s some advice in regards to should I try source an original set of brakes or buy another kit that has more sustainable replacements available. I know absolutely nothing about cars so I’m really at a loss. I’ve attached a picture of the front wheel.

    Cheers,

    Kyle

Looks to like your car is fitted with a Revo big brake kit upgrade. Quick look around and they are close to a £1000 for the front discs. Try some Ford specialists and Revo directly and see what they can do on price

How many miles has your car got on as I would not expect them to fade quickly?

Those are expensive brakes, a very nice upgrade.

Discs are easy enough to find, this is the full kit:

    2.4K upgrade.
lower long term maintenance costs says the advert.
yet here is someone needing discs and facing big expense.
standard ford oe discs are 100 each or 50 in the sale.
I would remove this system, sell it, and treat myself to new standard brakes as often as I liked.

Have to agree 100% with kr1s. If you’re not tracking your car OEM are more than adequate. I’ve done 20k miles on my OEM brakes with loads of residual wear on them recorded at the last service.Only complaint is the amount of break dust produced but I can live with that.
