Tom , was looking at one of these for my RS , but some one pointed out you only have to unscrew the gear knob to remove , was looking into a pedal vice which looks all pedals in one  box , as well as the full steering lock , never can be to secure conscious, 👍take care.

Hi Paul, the kit comes with a glue to put on the threads so the gear knob can be fixed on, then only a quick cut and weld a few gussets on ,  yes I agree never enough security pal, one of my mates has the peddle box, a good piece of kit , 👍

Mild steel will take about 2-3 mins to cut through with a junior hack saw just before the pivot point 🤷🏻‍♂️ The disc lock can be removed in a seriously quick time. The professional scum round here just see them as an inconvenience, the tools and equipment available make it so easy to remove locks.

This type has been about for years had the below on my XR2i back in the day

Yes true but it is only ever going to be something to slow them down not completely stop them

My brother had one of those on his Mk4 Escort RS Turbo way back in the day. It got stolen on holiday in Blackpool as has been mentioned they simply screwed the knob off. Car was never heard of again unfortunately.

That’s why they supply glue with them ,  or you can locktight the gear knob

It’s more of a visual deterrent, most thief would be thinking twice.

    The glue works.

Unfortunately, the comments above are true. Thieves can whip these devices off but the harsh truth is, if there are 2 cars and one has these devices on and one doesn’t, I know which one they’ll go for. Hence, mine has the disclock on every time I park up. Like Tesco says, every little helps….

There was a white MK3 RS stolen in my town about three weeks ago. Seemingly it had one of the silver steering wheel disc locks and the thieves took it with it left on and were able to drive it🤬🤬
