Quick question to the group. Being a new rs owner and this being the the most up to date car I’ve owned. I’m a merchant seaman so sometimes the car may be left a few months without being driven. Is this liable to flatten the battery or cause problems. Also in these technological advanced times where everything’s computerised, is it safe to jumpstart one of these cars. I have a lithium jumpstart which I used on my last car as I had trouble with it after being at sea, can I use one of these should problems arise.

Ctek MXS5 I believe, well looks the same as what I use.

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

Go with the trickle charger route.

When I bought my car it lost charge after every 2 days of not using it.  Jump started it off another car multiple times and off a booster pack and never had any problem.

A friend of mine borrowed my MXs5 for his old Beamer battery which kept losing charge. He put it on for 24 hrs (this was over a year ago) and it hasn’t missed a beat since.

Not only charge but can repair an old battery.

Use a trickle charger… use jump start as a last resort.
