Very true mate, but if the Mk4 RS is starting at approx £40K (with no discount possible) before any extras the Ford is no longer a bargain IMHO.

but that Merc has only got 1 more mph topspeed, and its going to cost bundles with the required options added, high £50K possibly to £60s ?? I would not expect a Focus to come in basic list for more than £44, 995 ! surely?

They are amazing cars but at a price, a hefty price…. and that is why they are not affordable to most and there is more bang for the buck i.e. RS.

You could forge the mk3 engine and go 450-500bhp for less.

This is probably my last RS, and by the time they decide to go to production the tree huggers may have persuaded the governments to strive for electric. The RS wont happen until 2022.
