It needs a replacement as the build date is within the period Ford have estimated.

Contact Ford or the Ford supplying dealer with the chassis / registration number and they will be able to tell you if its been undertaken or not.

Lots on this and other forums explaining about how to do a physical check. Just feel for the gasket sticking out beyond the face of the block/head in the right hand bottom corner of the engine. It sticks out and has a brass rivet in this location, then it has the correct gasket.
