sounds odd, realise previous motor was a torquey diesel but should feel a lot quicker.
It may be worth checking the health of the RS properly, I.e get it on a dyno prior to any tuning to check all is well, the standard car is reasonably quick.
Just another thought sometime people modify the RS and when selling remove some of the kit, but leave other stuff on like a different map, so the car may not be optimised.
hope you enjoy the RS, they are fun in standard tune but real fun when tuned.
