    Did you have any luck with Opie Oils  @Kenny

    Castrol Edge Titanium 0w-40 FST A3/B4 Fully Synthetic Car Engine Oil – £64 for 8 Litres: 2 x 4L delivered   is a really good deal already TBH

    but would hate to buy it then find out i could save bit a more 🙂

    @Mart.  Hope the Mobil 1 New Life 0-40 ok as that what dealer supplied me on collection day when I asked to buy oil to have at home if req.

    Can anyone tell me if oil has a shelf life i have a 1 ltr unopened bottle of 0w- 40 Castrol SLX which i had for my Mk2 Rs would this oil be ok for top ups or is it for chucking away!.

    Unopened in factory sealed container stored indoors = 60 months
    Unopened in factory sealed container stored subjected to freezing = 24 months
    Once opened and air introduced = 12 months.

     

    give it a mix and leave to settle for 10 mins before use aswell

    Tesco and Asda are back at £12 just now for 1 ltr Castrol edge     0w-40 better deal than Halfords i would think.

    The fuck, is the european model different feom the US varient?  My 2017 manual clearly states the car runs 5w50 motorcraft full synthetic.  This is some bullshit, right after i pay 50 bucks for 6 quarts and a filter I read online this nonsense about 0w40?  SOMEONE here is wrong, and considering im staring right at my mk3.5 rs supliment manual right now, I call bullshit on the 0w40.

    Could it be due to the fact you are across the pond and depending on which part of the states you are in ambient temperatures dictate oil viscosity?
