Reset Oil Service Light

Spotted this on a website and thought it was worth having it in our library. Haven’t tested this on a Mk3 Focus RS but works on other Focus models.

• Press and hold the START button for 2 seconds without pressing the brake pedal to put in ON mode.
• Simultaneously press the accelerator and brake pedals and hold them in the fully pressed position.
• After 3 seconds, the message center displays “Service: Oil Reset In Prog”
• Continue to hold both the accelerator and brake pedals for 25 seconds or until the display shows “Service: Oil Reset Complete”
• Release both pedals and place ignition in the OFF position/mode

Because the dip sticks in the garage forgot to reset it on a service. Bless them…….

Service light is on a timer not goverened by mileage.

That’s handy. My oil service due message just came on. Can do an oil serve myself and save a wad of cash!

Always done my own services before so was begrudging having to pay ford a small fortune for the privilege just because I couldn’t reset the service interval!

I know this is an old thread but thanks Kenny!!! I just followed these instructions and bobs your aunt, all sorted  This saved me a soul destroying dealer experience

Just had my car serviced 3 weeks ago and now the oil change message has come on.

The dozzy lot at Ford Guildford wanted to do a “diagnosis” as they didn’t service it and asked for the car to be left for the day…

Mountune HQ serviced it while they fitted FPM375 and a V3 everything so I know everything has been done properly…
