Hi Robroy, yes I was the only MK3 club car on the stand. sorry i didn’t see you mate. The organisers said 3 were booked in. anyway, what a great day, Charity rides at £10 for 3 x laps in an Escos and a 300bhp Fiesta race car were great fun. So many RS Capris, some lovely RS2000’s inc 2 cracking x pack cars (1 rocking a YBT). The only red RS1800 in the world, absolutely time warp, lives in a car coon, was built by Ford as a favour to the Bass player of ureyiah heap. This car was like standing at the end of the factory line in 1977, mind blowing clean. + The usual suspects, Mark Hudd’s beautiful ELE, (800+BHP immaculate RS500), + his escort mk1 van YB, Escort S1 YB and Hannah Ward’s pink mk1 focus YB, these 3 cars rocking 4×4 drive trains. The Avin the crack drift team were there, putting on a great display and popping tyres. + the ex guy Martin transit van with the GT V6 engine in, (now detuned to 650bhp). Pre covid there used to be 1000’s of people at RS Combe and now about a quarter compared to 2018 and 2019. I don’t know why as it is such a great event and you can feel close to the track action. Personally I find RS Combe a more intimate and rewarding event than Ford Fair. Lets see if we can get a few more of you there next year and get the team spirit growing.
