    Hi all,

As per title, in the next year or so I’m thinking of trying to get some more power out of the RS. Thinking 500BHP would be a good amount but just wondering what the car would need doing to it to make it reliably make that power and rough idea of cost.

I know I’ll need a forged engine (although still looking for recommendations on what components I’d need and an idea of cost). Already have a cat back exhaust so suspect I’d need a sports cat too.

What else is needed for this kind of power and what sort of cost?

Last time I spoke to Gary at Collins he was quoting just shy of 4k for the build, that was with the standard turbo though. Updated turbo for plus 500bhp would be extra. Give him a call and I am sure he will talk you through what the build spec is.

First mod would be to make sure you’ve got £15k ish ready to spend to achieve your figure, as quantity components are not cheap.

I did mine is stages, get the engine forged first, but while your doing that get some cams fitted, saves on labour .

I bought the turbo next, then after that I bought other parts required then eventually had it all  fitted, unless you can afford do it all in one go, as above your probably looking at around 15k
