Anyone watching this on Channel 4? Guy Martin trying to break the van lap record at the Nurburgring.

Caught some of it and looked good. Haved taped it to watch later this week.

Previous record seemed slow 9:57s.
Didn’t that girl (Top Gear) Sebrenna Schmitt do a sub 10 minute in a “standard transit” to beat Clarkson who used a turbo Jaguar.
She had 180bhp compared to Guys 600bhp. Should of put Schmitt in that van and guy as a passenger ????

I would have thought that a van with that sort of performance could have been around the 8 minute mark so agree seems slow.

sad news for TG’s Sabine Schmitz, who’s seen her 10m08s lap record in a Ford Transit beaten by a full ten seconds. The driver in question was British Touring Car Championship star Rob Austin, and the van a Volkswagen Transporter.
