I’m sure there must be a thread on this already but I can’t see it. Most of us on here own a Mark 3 Focus RS but how did we all end up with this car and what did you start off with and own along the way to being an RS Focus owner? I imagine some of you have had some interesting cars unless the RS is your first ever car. In which case you’re very lucky or just rich. I’m in my 40’s now and have owned quite a few different cars(mainly hot hatches) and have photos of nearly all of them, I might upload some to this thread at some point in the meantime this a list of every car I’ve so far owned. It would be good to see some of your car lists and pics

Mini Metro (mud-brown with brown plastic seats!)

    Fiesta XR2 (mk 2 – blue – pepperpot alloys – great car)

Fiesta XR2i (black – leaked like a sieve – hopeless car)

BMW 318i coupe (green – underpowered)

BMW 328i coupe (blue – great car)

BMW M3 evo (techno violet – easy to drive fast – but really wanted a 911 )

Porsche 993 Targa (silver – great car – until I drove it up a tree!)

Porsche 996 (silver – nice car – easier to drive then the 993)

Porsche 996 (red – as above)

Porsche 9964s (blue – great car)

    996 GT3 (mk 2 – bucket seats and cage – wish I’d kept it)

BMW M3 (V8) (grey – boring and I hated it)

997 CarerraS (red – loved it – wanted more power so)

997 GT3 (MK 1) (black – really should have kept this)

My wife decided I should avoid “wasting” money on cars so I sold the GT3 and moved to

Mini JCW (grey – good fun) then

BMW M Roadster (black – great fun for the summer – hopeless in the winter ) then

Aston Martin V8 Vantage (4.3 ) (grey – nice car – but wanted a bit more power)

So – Aston Martin V8 Vantage (4.7) (black – still got it – now want a V12S – but wife would probably leave me!)

Then Fiesta ST (blue – great little car  – used it for work – loved every mile)

Now – my daily = Focus RS – pound-for- pound probably the best car I have ever had

1995:  Rover 416 GSi – used; red over grey

1998:  Ford Probe 24V – used; metallic blue

1999:  Mitsubishi FTO GPX – grey import; Passion red

2000:  FTO; and Rover 220 Coupe Turbo T-bar – JDM import; metallic grey

2000:  Mitsubishi Evo VII – grey import, new; satellite silver

2001  Evo VII; and Porsche 986 Boxster S – new; Zenith Blue

    2002:  Boxster S;  and Porsche 993 Carrera S – used; Ocean Blue

2004:  Boxster S; and Honda Civic Type-R – new facelift;  Cosmic Grey

2004:  Civic Type-R; and Nissan 350Z GT – new; Gunmetal Grey

2005:  350Z; and Mitsubishi Evo IX FQ-320 – new UK market; Electric Blue

2007:  Evo IX; and Porsche 996 Carrera 4S – used MY03; Arctic Silver

^which is how it stayed for many years, with the Evo IX receiving some modifications: an ideal car pair for me & my Mrs, who, if you hadn’t guessed already, is a car-nut as well…

…until the newly launched Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio catches my attention.  So Evo went up for sale, while I specced up my Quadrifoglio. Then – BAM – something else came up that was our real dream car that we thought we’d never be in a position to own and drive.

2017:  Porsche 997 gen 1.5 Turbo manual, 3.6 Mezger, gen2 wheels – rare opportunity not to be missed – used; Basalt Black

Evo was sold and 996 traded-in, so I needed something else.

    Pronto.

Which is how I ended up with the 2017 Focus RS Mk3 – new; Nitrous Blue

But I still want that Quadrifoglio.  (Because I can’t really have my Mrs driving around in a 480bhp supercar while I drive a hatchback, LOL)

The 997 Turbo is a keeper, at least in the medium term.  It gets used on a day-to-day basis, so no garage queen.

Of them all, though, I still regret selling the widebody 993 2S.  What an amazing driver’s car.

    Yours Aye

    Mark H

    Sept 2017 New Focus RS3

Enjoyed every car in its own right.  Manta was a great car but underpowered, Turbo i.e was fantastic but the bodywork and alloys where rubbish.  Mondeo’s where brilliant, especially the 200bhp estate and the Puma was great fun. Loved all of my Focus range, always wanted an RS after my mate got a Mk1 when I picked up my first ST170.  Love my RS 3, knew about the  problems before I picked it up and it did not put me off as i knew I was buying a vehicle I had always wanted.  I do not care about the bad press or the current depreciation in value, it will bounce back as the years pass and become another RS icon no matter what colour it is.  Love the car, proud to own one and it was well worth the wait.  One thing is for sure, no other car has made me smile every time I sit in the drivers seat, even before I push the start button!

There’s definite evidence of some brand loyalty being displayed in these car histories ?
