I had gtechnic Crystal Serum Black and Exo it was  done about 2.5 half years ago wheels were done and glass was around £800 its well worth it ,when you wash the car and its in the sun it looks amazing!

Picture from Brands Hatch in the days of car shows 🤦‍♂️ and i am definitely no mad polisher.

Personally I think it needs to be applied by a professional

@DaveRS3 Yes, I meant to say two stage polish – my mistake.

I’ve machine polished one car previously, and it came up very well, but that was a 15 year old Golf. I’m just not confident enough to do it on what is essentially a brand new RS. If I got it wrong, I’d have to pay to have it fixed. Considering I’m not going on holiday any time soon it’s money I’m happy to spend.

Would do it myself but the thought of giving it a good De clean each time I have to top it up , but like you say keep on top of clean regime and a quick polish / wax should do 👍try to keep on top of mine

I had my mk3.5 ST done with ceramic pro 4 coats it was on for 3 years before I sold it and there was not a mark on the paint, no scratches and definitely no stone chips and that was after 24,000 miles on all roads, would definitely recommend getting it done and by a professional

I used Autoglyms UHD coating https://www.autoglym.com/ultra-high-definition-ceramic-coating

Application is easy but like what’s been said, it’s all in the prep.

Car stays cleaner longer and easier to clean. It really brought out the fleck in the NB.

Well, here’s the photos – looking absolutely stunning I must say. My phone can’t really do it justice, you’ll have to trust me how good it looks!

Nice one Stripe, tell us more like where it was done and what coatings?.

Did they give any recommendations or instruction as to how to maintain the coating(s) appropriately and what products to use etc?.

@DaveRS3 done by Pinnacle detailing in Oxfordshire, who applied Gtechniq Serum light topped with Exo. I’ve been told to use only pH neutral shampoo (which I do anyway) and avoid waxes and sealants. Got given a little safe wash booklet and a few general tips on keeping it clean.

First day (frozen) beading is proving absolutely gorgeous:
