Car up in the air for a deep clean of calipers, arch liners and the back of the wheels.

Wasn’t planning on buying the imap due to my ongoing expenditure on my YB cosworth conversion in my MK2 however I ended up getting a good deal with a chap from Aberdeen so bit the bullet and went for it.

Pleased with it so far although not done too many miles!

I used these ones – like you say they come with silver nuts but also with black caps (like on your post on other forum). The caps are a bit of a PITA tbh, so i put black insulating tape over the ends…

Locking wheel nuts don’t fit these ones though

I purchased mines from sico developments. 12mm and come with new set of extended black wheel nuts and adaptor socket for removing them (so no need for a locker)

Happy enough with them so far.

Exactly why I purchased it! Great value and something which is non permanent.

I went straight with ultima 2+ and have given it a bit of a test drive in different conditions. It seems to have a lot lower down torque and keeps pulling. Like many others have said it does have a slight delay/lag in throttle response but you get used to it. Not as linear in power delivery as standard but fun non the less. Something different.

I’ve yet to try it out in the proper twisties yet – somewhere the car excelled on before. I suspect it might not be quite as good due it the boosty nature of the map but we will see.

Have you gone for the same map?

    Cheers, Neil

I also went for the DS ultima 2+ a few weeks back. Only done a few trips to work. (6miles each way with 50mp average speed cameras) so not really had chance to try it out. I did give it a few revs the other night and over 3.5k it really pulled well. Trip to the Lake District next weekend so be interesting to see how it really performs.

Your car is looking really nice๐Ÿ˜Ž

I was Ultima3 – very fast and dont mind the lag at all. Only notice it when you go from zero to MASH! Makes the car feel angry!

Thanks, I am one of these sad people who enjoys cleaning the car and then putting it back in the garage to look at haha. It does get used for a bit of fun aswell.

The Quattro was an original 20v RR with some pretty awesome upgrades. Full leather electric recaro seats for one. My dad carried out a full restoration on it. Done the paintwork in ibis white which at the time was one of only 2 restored in that colour. Also had everything in the engine bay that could be powder coated done so it was better than when it left the factory. Sold to an elderly chap in his mid 70’s who lives locally so still see it around every now and again. He also bought a MK2 escort which my dad restored which he uses as an almost daily driver ๐Ÿ˜† it has a Harris race engine so not that comfortable on the road but again I see it around. Strange seeing an arched MK2 escort at Tesco in the winter ๐Ÿ˜ณ
