I’ve carried out about 5k now on new 4S’ all-round.

I believe they grip noticeably harder in the dry and can’t be provoked sideways as easily in the wet.

Very gradual tyre but I’d say the ride is marginally firmer on them.

Overall very impressed and wouldn’t go back to PSS. Get them ordered!

Brembo did you find that the PS4’S helped with the tramlining and the VS issue at all? if i dont get any joy with the wheel alignment on saturday im thinking of changing the front tyres to PS4’s

    thanks

cam, if you are getting a bit of moving about still after having the pdc off, I would reckon the Continental 6s would sort out a lot of tramlining.

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

BDA i have always usually had continental as a tyre of choice and never had michelins before, i would quite happily get some contis but apprently the wear rate is quite bad

yer possibly, at the rate I’m going (5500 miles in 24 months) I’m not going to be replacing tyres for years yet! So for me faster tyre wear would not be an issue, I’ve got super soft Kumho ecsta v700 on the Escort and they probably only last 10000 road miles, but as that’s like 6 or 7 years in that car its not an issue

im not too fussed about the wear issue, i probably do about 10-12000 miles a year but from what im hearing that will be 2 front sets at least per year on the conti’s. If it makes a big difference to the VS issue though its worth it!

Maybe rotate them at 5-6000 and see if that helps?

more than happy to do that, just seeing if changing to ps4 tyres on the front has helped the issue on brembos or if its a waste of money and time me doing it 🙂

I rotate my tyres front to back as don’t like the idea of changing just two fresh rubber seems to react slightly different.

cam , I’ve got a feeling the4s will still tramline, I even get tramlining on my daily fiesta now it has Michelins on! Before on the Hankook evos it sailed over grooves and ruts with zero tramlining !

cam, have you had the pdc turned off? if you have asked your dealer to turn it off and they said they have, can you trust them, that they have actually done it? Veering steering is not tramlining or the odd tug one direction, its purely slalom/ziggzagging. What symptoms are you getting?
