    Some good memories here…

    25th Feb 1991, 5 months after 17th bday. 4 lessons cost me £16 (total) in a diesel maestro (awful). Dad taught me in my brown Mk3 escort estate death trap. It had its own version of drift mode, basically massive oversteer if you went round a bend greater than 5°.

    There was a young woman from Chester,

    Who had a driving examiner to test her,

    She jumped every red light and gave the examiner a fright,

    But she passed in a layby near Leicester!.

    1985, Bury St Edmunds in a Mini Metro first time pass.  RAF paid for it through a civilian instructor. First car a bright red Fiat Uno.
