@ Stmart.. yes, I still have the BDA,  and to Carismadave, the Magnesium wheels havn’t rusted ! heres a pic of it in 1983 when I bought it, and a recent one of engine bay etc, oh, and a few of the new frozen white RS, which as you can see does not need any paintwork “correction” on at all !! I would rather buy a few Gold sovereigns or something worth the  money than enrich a gimper !

    April 1983… before the £100 repaint !

1985 with an ex after the repaint..

at Boxhill fast Ford meet last year..

and at over 200bhp/tonne compared to the Focus’s 222bhp/tonne, it actually feels quicker, and sounds a lot more impressive at 8500rpm..   a 1000 kilo car versus a 1550 kilo car !

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

oh.. and the £700 Ive still got from not having a car cleaner machine polish  the hell out of the top coat and then rub in some over priced from USA liquid polymer hyped up stuff !! 😎

I’ve already got a few chips on the bonnet and no money in the world is going to stop that. In three years time I’ll give someone a grand and they can fix all the chips and scrapes and I’ll sell it on. The more you worry, the less you’ll enjoy the car.

I’m getting a bit of a Clarkson vibe from Mr. Parker. Do you own a denim jacket, big man?

Well, I’ve just finished treating my own paintwork, wash, dry, de-tar, rinse, dry, de-iron fallout, wash, dry, fine claybar+lube the car, final finish light polish a few areas of light surface blemishes, then White Light coating, wait… then Jetseal, wait.. then White Wax. Result? totally awesome gleaming Frozen White, 12 months protection from falling elephant poo from 35000ft and loads of money still in pocket and the satisfaction of knowing that I achieved the final finish. Oh and the black forged rims sealed too.

I’m very good, mate. I hadn’t realised you’d had that car for so long, it still looks in great nick.  I’ve done 3000 miles, put a hard wax on and I’ve even started cleaning the wheels. The love affair is still going strong…….not £700 for a ceramic strong, but strong nonetheless.
