Cool!! That’ll be a hell of a thread!! Are Norris Designs and Norris Motorsport separate companies?? Do they port  and valve your original Head or is it a new Head altogether?? What type of Turbo mate, I think even the Full Blown Motorsport twin scroll is only good for 550 bhp!! How much of the work, if any, will you do yourself?? Will it be usable as a daily driver still or you not fussed about that?? Sorry for all the questions mate, I love this shit!! Haha!! Clutch??

    Cheers, Marc.

The Norris’s are separate companies both do Ford and Evo’s. Used Norris Motorsport on my previous Cosworth engines and they just went and went.

A turbo probably a Garrett. I’d like to keep the original engine as is. So it’s going to be a new block & head and I’ll rape all the bolt on stuff off the original motor.

Running the Piper BPT285 cams I’d hope it would be useable as a daily, but luckily I have my daily donkey A4 TDi for daily / work duties or the Mrs Q5

Clutch it’ll be what’s ever is about at the time. Fuelling; I purchased at the time the Mountune extreme inlet with the additional bosses for additional injectors just in case and the Mountune Inlet spacer for NOS or Meth.

I was advised on costs only that I could run a second set of standard injectors to cover any short fall and at a quarter of the £££ of say DeatsenWerks injectors but then I’m into engine management etc

If you modify / change one item generally you have to change another 3 parts to keep up with the first part and it just snowballs into an addiction.

    Cheers, Marc.

The standard shifter is good but the short shifter just s makes it much better and so positive so alls good.

I fitted the rear motor mount and have felt no downside to it ?

So this coming Friday 4th it’s FPM375 map installation day, the car definitely needs it.

After fitting all the intercooler & hoses, inlet manifold, spacer, pipes K&N and exhaust the car is breathing really well, to well infact. As now it’s causing the ECU to hesitate when flooring the throttle and each time you shift gear and floor it again ECU hesitates flat then reads the data then off we go.

So yep looking forward to the FPM375 map install just to iron out this hesitation, this should do until I save enough for the proper engine mods ?

What do you mean warranty I’ve got 5 years ????????

Yrs I know what you mean the Dreamscience is much more bang for you £££.

But it’s a make do until next year sorry this year after the engine mods are done or finished then a it’s a custom map via a Cobb.

Shortly After ordering the FPM375 I did relise I should of just got a Litchfield or Norris Device stage one, as a stage one won’t stress the engine internals.

Had the Fake Engine Noise switched off on Friday. WOW…………… it’s now fantastic, if I want noise I push the load pedal and if I’m just plodding it’s quite and on the motorway their is absolutely no drone.

Its jabsolutely brilliant, not milk (If your old enough you’ll remember) but the natural sound of the car awesome.

Interesting thread – thanks, does such a high quality brake upgrade make for fair ‘normal/typical driving’ or is this really aimed at track usage?

I’m guessing that if you were to nail these on the M25 say… your rear end will be toast…

Thats one of my biggest worries, that the speed I can scrub off so quickly is always the guy behind me who cannot. M25 can you actually get upto speed on their lol ?

To be honest for just pure road use they are over-kill, but if you needed to stop 8 metres sooner or it’s crash bang wallop then their not. In a way having super stoppers is a bit like car insurance; it’s a waste of money until it isn’t.

These brakes allow you to brake much later than you would with the standard which makes your times faster with the same engine power.

I do a few lads weekends where 3-8 people in various RS, Audi RS, M2-M4s go to various countryside locations for a spirited drive and also a bit of track time too.

@white-rs2 ~ understand your point, better brakes will increase your stopping power in emergency situations along with playing (if so inclined).

It’s essential (in my mind) to follow a route similar to yours, this must come before chasing power.

Yes I’m a big fan of stopping, handling and breathing and then more power to follow.

If you’ve got the first 3 you’ll be faster with the same power.
