It’s the RS and a GR, or an RS only, but I couldn’t swop, just too attached to the RS brand

After 6 months of mk3 ownership and quite a few miles if my decision was based on B road bashing I’d px the rs but I love the rs brand and the 4 doors was why I went mk3 over mk2 as it’s a daily with kids and for that reason I would not swap but till you driven one don’t judge it out, as a drivers car on uk B roads it’s a great bit of kit just to small and unpractical.

As a new car the fiesta st now looks old technology but if the Toyota sells well hopefully that might push Ford to create the new car that I would buy along side my rs and that’s a Fiesta RS 🙂

Fraser, are you related to hammy by any chance ? Look, my first car was a Mk1 Escort at 16, I then went to Capri Gt’s, a 3.0 GXL, bought my RS1600 before my 19th,  my daily was a  5.3Litre Jaguar xj12L at 20, my heart is always a blue oval, but I have had great Hondas, Great mazdas ( Mx5, Mx6, 323 V6 and a dodgy RX7)  a few fun Datsuns !! Cherry Gti and a Nissan Silvia ZX 2.0 DOHC !! There have been plenty of great Jap cars, I personally prefer a naturally aspirated engine and one that likes revving ideally to 8000 at least, I dont like Turbo engines, to me they feel just like Diesels, torque monsters with narrow power bands that sound naff. As we are never going to be getting new cars again with VTEC style non turbo engines I will have to settle for light cars with perky engines, and the GR appears to fit that well compared to a lot of other cars around, I still have not driven one, been too busy and I also do not really want to wait 10 months for one so may go cold on the idea very soon. IF Ford were to do a RS Fiesta with 300BHP I would go and buy one, but they dont, and I dont want an ST badge and I dont want a FWD car with loads of power either or I would have bought a type r instead of the RS. So, don’t worry , I’m not deserting the brand , I just fancy a new daily with a bit of poke .

    No nothing.

No Mods. No rockers. Just a chunky knob, thats now been replaced by an RS knob innit.

    No tackiness.

Std as Ford intended, but with a space saver wheel and jack and nuts and wheel brace. oh.. and flaps, a man has got to have flaps.

    Innit?

I must admit it does look good, I  wouldn’t mind a test drive, like the old days a  homologated car for rallying 👍

Remapped to 291hp, makes it seriously quick, think your going to have a lot of fun Coastliner.
