Exhaust flap modifation

Will this affect the warranty?

Why exactly is there a flap?  noise, backpressure, emissions?

So if you disconnect the motor plug when the flap is open will the motor stay in the ‘open’ position or will it gradually creep back to closed? I think in time and due to vibrations the motor  will eventually creep back and close the flap.

In the video the motor is removed and reinstalled with it in the closed position whilst the flap is in the open position. The motor spring is not aligned with the flap but the force from the misalignment seems to hold the flap in the open position. Correct?

When in sports mode, is the flap permanently open? Does this mod only benifit normal mode?

Flap only seems to open when your giving it the Beans..  in traffic and at slow speeds, its closed.

My neighbour said he thought my car only had 1 exhaust and the other was fake, due to the fact when reversing of my drive he could only see steam from one side…….. thats what made me change it.

Mine is open….period. From cold start, during normal driving and in all modes

Did you just disconnect the motor plug on start up i.e in Sport mode with the flap open or did you remove the motor as per the video?

Well done.  With your bypass, if one could figure out how the motor circuit works, you could add a switch to open/close the flap as desired.  Any ideas?  Thanks for your help.

Started the car and drove till up to normal temps. Flap was open at time of turning off engine. Simply disconnected the plug from the motor and plugged in the delete plug, then cable tied out of the way. Didn’t touch motor at all and flap has remained OPEN in all modes and before cold start

Thats why i have left the motor in place. i will have a push button next to the Handbrake to open or close the valve. this will make it quiet when i start my car at 05:30 in the morning, then open it for the rest of the time.

sounds much better with it open, even in normal mode….
