Fitted mine today,  seems great so far and I’ve  had no error codes come up. Nice little mod for under  £20 ?

Superb isn’t it. Can’t believe everyone doesn’t do it for that extra snap, crackle & pop!

Does anybody have the actual circuit diagram of whats in the plug? Values of resistors etc. Fancy making up the terminal myself…

Is it just a resistor, or are there other components…

    Cheers, S

This part is the one to use. I fitted this to mine in Track mode with flap fully open.

    No error codes displayed

My understanding is, It’s basically a jump switch to plug into the connection of the exhaust flap connection, so it will trick the ECU to be a closed circuit, (if you want the valve to be opened or closed) rather than an open circuit which the ECU will look for a open & closed valve position (resistance & voltage). Hope this makes sense.

Hi guys…..ive watched the vid twice now and ain’t seeing the bit where the new gizmo is plugged in.  Do you have to remove the 3 bolts,  remove the motor cover and the cable is released that way ? Or does it just unplug with the motor cover in-situ ? Or am I missing something completely ?

    Many thanks

Chunky, you just unplug the lead that clips into the motor housing, then plug the module into the lead, put some blu-tac into the hole left in the motor housing to protect the contacts, this will be a great decision should you reverse the modification years down the road, then cable tie the lead with the module plugged into it to the motor housing to keep it dragging down the road.

Oh, make sure the flap in the exhaust is open when you unplug the lead from the motor housing, the best time is after a cold start, turn off the car ignition, then do this mod, when you turn the car back on it will have no error codes and the flap will remain open, pops in Normal mode and more noise, best cheap mod ever

    hope this helps

chunky you start car when cold and wait for opening the flap. Then just disconnect the plug!

I tried 4 times like many here were writting with cold start and when flap is open to turn off ingnition. The flap is closing every time when shut down the car on my car. So i started the car, checked flap and when it was open I disconnected the cable from the motor and then a lot of error codes but do not worry about. I turned the car off. Fit the plug in the cable and covered the motor connection with tape for the contacts.

After all was fitted I just restarted the car and all error codes were gone and I was able to choose all drive modes. Was lot easier that way than to hope the flap stays open after turn off ignition…. on my car. Do not know how it will be on your car or why my car is different? 😀
