Now Mountune are specifying a clutch upgrade to go along with their M450 & M520 upgrades. This wasn’t offered originally to any of the first customers so why have they had a change of thought??

Whats a tad concerning their is no torque rating on the clutch which is pretty important more so than the bhp figure.

    clutch upgrade – rs

    £540.83 ex. vat | £649.00 inc vat

plus fitting, so about £1250 all in

the mountune clutch upgrade for the mk3 focus rs uses a unique hybrid combination of both paddle and organic friction plate and offers the ultimate road-going clutch solution.

this hybrid setup enables substantially increased torque outputs to be comfortably handled, whilst still driving like an oe clutch setup.

tested and recommended when upgrading to m450 or m520.

supplied as an uprated performance friction plate and cover.

    RS Edition.

Don’t bother with Mountune it’s an RTS kit available all over the place for less.

Nice build mate. Do you have a dyno graph of this run? I have already placed the order to Lee for a 2.0lit block, precision turbo etc.

Lag is almost factory as by 2500rpm it’s placing 300bhp by 3500rpm it’s at 400bhp higher the revs, the power just piles in all the way to the limiter.

And max torque is around 510 and all that arrives at 3800rpm and builds up strongly to that point.

This makes the car such a good shopping trolley for the daily chores and such a blast on the track ?? it’s faffing AWESOME…………

Now that's some good reading and a good source of inspiration..
Found a lot of answers to my questions, as I'm now in the process of building my engine and adding a Precision NX2.
I will use Tune +, because I will stay on the stock ECU...As for the fuel problem, you opened my mind with
the 1700cc GDI injectors.. My target is to reach 500+ bhp, so with these injectors and a Radium fuel filter,
    it should be enough.
    Cheers

    @If83wrc

thank you for taking the time to read the journey.
    Good luck with your build.

    PS

The stock OEM clutch is still holding strong with no slip or spin.

Thanks man, good to know…so I will be safe with my build…..What do you think about the idea of changing  only the injectors? Do you know how much bhp, you  can achieve with the GDI injectors?  Cheers.

I looked into the 1700cc injectors as an option, but my plans changed and I went Syvecs so stopped looking at them as an option.
But if using the factory single rail it “should” flow enough for 500bhp

    My status regarding my project

    • I have the internals rated for 1000 bhp
    • ND deck  brace
    • Precison NX2 and Tune + acces port on the way

My target is to use the stock ECU and to change only the fuel injectors, because as you said if you don’t go with SYVECS when using an auxiliary fuel system, you can risk. I don’t know what will be my power at the end with the 1700 cc injectors, only the dyno will reveal…
PS: What do you think about this…as I’m going for the balance shaft delete kit  with Mountune oil control system, do I have to change the crankshaft to a Callies one?
    Thanks.
